Uploading files is changing the modification date and time?

#i Post by abtranscription » 2012-09-07 22:17

I tin't call back what version I had previously but now take iii.5.iii. I used to upload files and information technology kept the original date and blazon the file was created but at present information technology seems like there is the "Last Modified" column and it changes the date of the file if you download and upload over again fifty-fifty if you lot did not open the file. Is there annihilation I tin do so this won't happen? Is at that place a cavalcade that is non showing for "Date created".
I accept transcriptionists that some fourth dimension download a file and the realize they don't accept time to do it and so they upload information technology back to the ftp. The transcriptionists go off the appointment of the file to work on the oldest to the newest simply if they reload the file and then the file looks new even though it is old. Is at that place anything I tin practise?

Check if you take the ''Preserve timestamps of transferred files'' option activated in the Transfer menu. Also for keeping timestamps on upload the server needs to support MFMT. Annotation that FileZilla only supports Modification fourth dimension. The other times are usually not delivered by the server in listings and thus they cannot be shown.

I take the "preserve timestamp" checked. How do I observe out if my server back up MFMT? I have used the same "Cox Communications" for years and used this program for years but when I changed to Windows vii and had to reload this FTP software then is the simply time I had this problem.

How do I find out if my server support MFMT?

At the initial connexion to the server, check the server's response to the FEAT command. In that location must exist a line advertising the MFMT feature.

Nope.

Beginning FileZilla fresh and connect to the server. In that location should exist a FEAT command issued past FileZilla followed by the server listing its supported features. In that location is where the MLST line must appear.

No, that server does not back up MFMT. Thus you won't exist able to set timestamps later uploads, using FileZilla.

Was your terminal version a two.10 one?
